MCP and Mark AI

Last updated

MCP and Mark AI extend Marktspan into governed analytics in external AI tools and an in-app operator assistant—without handing opaque models the keys to write marketplace changes unchecked. MCP is a read-only connector for Claude and ChatGPT: it can look up orders, P&L, stock, and product data for your workspace, and it cannot change, create, or delete anything. Mark lives inside the app with skills, credit usage, and confirmation flows before actions that change live data.

The homepage pairs these capabilities because buyers increasingly expect agent-native software, but marketplaces punish reckless automation. Marktspan's pattern is propose → review → apply for sensitive paths, aligned with Ad Pilot approvals and role-based visibility. Public documentation intentionally avoids internal prompt trees, scoring code, or database layout; signed-in operators get click-by-click Claude and ChatGPT setup via Get Help → Documentation.

Practical adoption starts read-only: add a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT, sign in, approve access, then ask the assistant to run whoami and summarize Pulse and P&L. If tools look outdated after a Marktspan update, remove the connector and add it again so the tool list reloads. Write skills in Mark—repricing suggestions, campaign tweaks—should wait until costs and connection health are stable. AI credits and plan entitlements matter for heavy Mark usage; see Pricing and Plans and getting help.

Security and procurement teams often ask whether customer data trains public models. Use the FAQ in sales cycles; escalate bespoke DPAs through Contact. Do not connect ungoverned personal chat accounts if your policy forbids it—approve access per workspace policy.

If your organization is not ready for AI governance, you can run Marktspan successfully without Mark or MCP. The core value remains margin, Pulse, and Manage modules. Add AI when you have an owner who will audit proposals weekly—same discipline as Ad Pilot.

Where to go next in the docs

Stay on this public guide for outcomes and rollout planning. For click-by-click operator procedures, sign in and open Get Help → Documentation. Evaluation teams should skim the FAQ, then Plans, billing, and getting help or Pricing before you commit production credentials.

How this maps to the product

Guide module chapters follow the six homepage capabilities, not every sidebar label. Specialized tools such as vouchers, invoicing, or ranking appear after sign-in in the operator handbook and roll up here by outcome so public docs stay readable.

Honest marketplace scope

Live seller operations emphasize Bol.com, Kaufland, and Pigu (PHH Group) today. Mirakl remains connect-first until your rollout confirms ingest for your operator. Ad Pilot applies to Bol Sponsored Products only; Pigu advertising uses Martailer separately from Ad Pilot. Retailers shown as coming soon on marketing surfaces are not described here as shipped product.
